"Sultry swinging folk with a poet at it's heart"
Valentin Gerlier spent the early years of his life in Tuscany, Italy. As a young man, he moved to England where he studied music, literature and philosophy. He wrote and recorded his first solo project "The road not taken" when still at school and it was this that led to a collaboration/production deal with producer and songwriter Filippo Gaetani in 1998.
Valentin moved to London in 2000. The years since were a whirlwind of creativity and musical expression as Valentin threw himself into many different musical styles and situations. These years of musical exploration culminated with the release of Valentin's self produced debut album "Dawn Of a new day" in 2008.
He is currently writing and recording with his new formation for a future Ray release. Some ofthe 1998 recordings will be featured in the upcoming Ray sampler.
