Malina

Malina (aka Michela Lombardi), is an exceptionally gifted vocalist who is equally at home in a pop or jazz setting. Her album “Gently Hard” (2001) is a refined collection of melodic and musically rich pop rock songs with echoes of Natalie Merchant, Sheryl Crow, Carole King and Alanis Morrissette. The album was co-written by producer Filippo Gaetani and recorded at his Le Bozze studios in Tuscany,Italy. The “Gently Hard” sessions were undertaken by a string of incredibly talented musicians including guest star pianist Stefano Bollani (accordion on Lemon cake) and Stefano Cocco Cantini (sax solo on Back to myself).

The songs Im glidin and Gently hard received heavy airplay in 2000. The remix of By your side, released on famed Tommy boy label, topped US billboards in year 2000 at #12. By your side was also featured in the TV series Queer as folk. The track Reach out was also remixed and received worldwide airplay. The song Teardrops featured in the short movie Under the leaves (Sotto le foglie) starring Valerio Mastrandrea and Cecilia Dazzi. The movie received several international awards.
